Today in class was little bit more fast pass then yesterday. Today we came in a worked on our chocolate pilling again and how we make paper piping bags. Then we started cutting apples and potatoes. We used the potatoes from yesterday to make mashed potatoes and hash browns. We also used the carrots from yesterday to make Carrot cake.
For the carrot cake:
Step one: Measure all ingredients, you can combine the sugar and oil into a boil. Place the eggs off to the side. Shift all of the dry ingredients together.
Step 2: Mix the sugar and oil together, then the eggs. Then the shifted ingredients. Then fold in the carrots and raisins.
Step 3: Portion into cups and bake.

Here is the piping from today. I tried to pip other designs. It didn’t work that well.

We also made pie dough for next week. It was a mealy crust, which means fine particles of butter.
When we were cutting I tried cutting to the smallest cube which is the Fine Brunoise. That size is 1/16 * 1/16 * 1/6. My greatest accomplishment today!
